Favourite type of sudoku...

There are literally tens if not hundreds of sudoku variants out there - which one is your favourite?

Probably the most commonly seen variants are either sudoku X, or killer sudoku: the latter being a fairly radical departure from the standard sudoku in that it also involves sum regions as found in kakuro puzzles.

There are many extra region variants of sudoku out there of which sudoku X is just the best known and most commonly seen type, but there are lots of other interesting ones such as offset sudoku. Some variants play with the standard box regions such as jigsaw sudoku and even more significantly toroidal sudoku where the regions can wrap around the edges of the grid.

Be interesting to hear which ones people have come across and they enjoy!

My favourite type of sudoku?

Hmm that's a tricky question!

There are so many different types, though sadly many of them you don't see that often.

I would probably say at the moment I really enjoy the consecutive sudoku puzzle... still very much sudoku but adds an interesting extra twist. Also quite like futoshiki if that counts as a sudoku variant rather than a separate puzzle type!
